Today's lesson was basically on understanding short story of  a visit to a farm. On the whole, one aspect from my point of view needs to be revised would be in terms of the difficulty level during post-reading activity. The fact that students were required to sequence the story based on pictures and sentence strips given, I realised that I did not change any words or sentence structure from the original story. Thus, students tend to just compare the story and the sentence strips given. I notice that the validity of the task was not present as students did not apply their reading skill but merely "comparing" between the story and the sentence strips. Instead of understanding the sequence they would rather focus on similarities of the words used. Therefore, in order to improve this skill, I should change the sentence structure or perhaps rephrase it. The use of synonyms and pronouns for instance can be used so that the students will be able to apply their comprehension of the story read. It will help the students to be aware of the significance of reading and their vocabulary will also expand and provide meaningful learning experience through the use of contextual words such as the synonyms and pronouns.
