PT3 ENGLISH ESSAY GUIDELINE : PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES 

GUIDELINES 

1. Study the diagrams or pictures in the question. 

2. Read any notes given carefully. Make sure you understand the process involved.

3. Since a process is done systematically, you should explain it in the correct sequence. You should not skip a picture or change the order of the picture. 

4. You explanation should be brief, simple and clear. 

5. Make use of sequence connectors to link one step tp another. This is to ensure the smooth flow of the description given. 

Example: First, Second, Then, Lastly

6. Usually the passive form is used for process. You may either use the present or past tense of the passive to write out your answer. 

Example: 

First, the beans are washed thoroughly.(present tense)

First, the beans were washed thoroughly.  (past tense)

7. Use the imperative form when giving instructions.
